03/05/2010. Joint mission of FAO / OIE evaluates the preparedness of Belarus to the outbreak of African swine fever.

On May 2 in the Republic of Belarus is working Joint Assessment Mission, FAO / OIE, headed by an officer of the FAO focal Europe and Central Asia Admira Mara. It is expected that the visit will last until May 7. In the course of the joint integrated mission involves visits to pig “Zadneprovsky and Babinovichskogo ohotohozyaystva. The purpose of the joint mission — to evaluate the readiness of the country to outbreaks of African swine fever and provide logistical support to prevent its occurrence in the territory of Belarus. During the visit, scheduled to meet with the Minister of Agriculture and Food Semyon Shapiro and representatives of the State Veterinary Service of Belarus.
